Research Week is a celebration of graduate student and postdoctoral fellow research at Queen's and how that research impacts the wider world. Events taking place over the week include the 3-Minute Research competition, student research reception, and the 3-Minute Thesis.
Grad Chat
Grad Chat allows students a chance to discuss their research in a casual, friendly environment with the SGSPA's own CJ the DJ.
3-Minute Research
The 3-Minute Research Competition challenges postdoctoral fellows to share their research in 3 minutes or less. Similar to the 3-Minute Thesis, the 3-Minute Research allow fellows to practice their public speaking skills with a chance to win prizes.
3MT: Finals
The Three-Minute Thesis competition challenges graduate students to present their research in a short, three minute presentation to a non-expert audience. Students are judged on the clarity of information and their presentation skills. There are three Heats, the winners of which move on to a Finals event. The winner of the Finals goes on to represent Queen's at the Ontario 3-Minute Thesis and beyond, and wins a $1000 prize.
