International Women’s Day: Highlighting Research at Queen’s with Grad Chat

Celebrating the impact of women's research at Queen's
International Women's Day 2025.

March 8th is International Women’s Day, a great opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of women in our lives. Here at the School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs we are all about research promotion for our students, and so to celebrate this special day we have a marathon of three Grad Chats! Each of these casual interviews is with a woman researcher from Queen’s and each of them showcases how special the everyday contributions are from women at our university.

March 8th: Zoe Brisson-Tsavoussis

Zoe Brisson-Tsavoussis

Zoe is a Master’s of Science student in Astroparticle Physics, and her research focuses on high-energy neutrino emissions from blazars, which are a type of celestial phenomenon. She also speaks on a new technology that will be used to make her research easier – an expansion to a lab in Antarctica!

March 11th: Lara Bulger

Lara is a doctoral student in the Cultural Studies program, and her research looks at the medium of documentary films. Specifically, she studies them as a tool for education and for their role in social change.

March 18th: Alyssa Grocutt

Alyssa Grocutt

Alyssa is a doctoral student in the Management program, and her research studies how workplace behaviors can change when dealing with tattooed colleagues.
