New Thrive 365 programming kicks off May 5 during Mental Health Week

This May, Queen’s employees are encouraged to explore and engage in new Thrive 365 wellness programming. Delivered through Human Resources, the events and workshops have been designed with a focus on reducing stigma and encouraging open discussions around mental health.
To kick off May programming and , employees are invited to join a session with comedian, author, and mental health advocate Susan Stewart. Susan’s session, A Bit More Than a Rough Patch: What a Comedian Learned About Taking Mental Health Seriously, is an honest and humorous exploration of her personal experience surviving a mental health crisis, and it aims to reinforce the importance of reducing stigma, fostering resilience, and creating a workplace culture where open discussions about mental health are encouraged. The virtual event takes place on Monday, May 5 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. and is open to all members of the Queen’s community. Those interested in attending can register online.

- Building Confidence in Sharing Mental Health 91ºÚÁÏÍøs: May 7, 1 - 2 p.m. Designed to help you feel more prepared and empowered when talking about your own mental health journey or supporting others. Register online.

- Putting Workload Management on the Agenda: May 26, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Explore ways to better manage workload and learn from others through discussion and information sharing. Register online.
- EFAP Informative Session: May 29, 1 – 2 p.m. Explore how the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) can support your wellbeing. Learn about the comprehensive resources available, including counselling, financial advice, parenting tips, and much more. Register online.
All sessions align with the pillars of the Campus Wellbeing Framework and have been designed based on insights from university-wide data, industry trends, and employee feedback. Thrive 365 programming for May is available at no cost to the Queen’s community thanks to several internal and external partnerships, including a donation from Manulife.
