10:30 AM – 11:15 AM
Find on Campus Map
Much like an air traffic control system manages the arrival and departure of airplanes on multiple runways, our brains have an air traffic control system. It's called the 'Executive Functioning System'. This system helps us organize and keep track of information, keep our attention focused on a task, control our impulses, and set goals. All of these skills are crucial for learning and student achievement, and for many of our exceptional students, these skills need to be explicitly taught.
In this webinar, Kim will explain what Executive Functioning (EF) means, the role it plays in children with Special Education needs, and ways to support your child's executive functioning development throughout the rest of their education. Kim will share valuable information on the various elements of the Executive Functioning system and provide practical ideas and strategies to support your child's EF needs at home and at school (think tidy bedroom and organized backpack!) You will leave this webinar with an increased knowledge of how executive functioning plays a significant role in everyday life. Most importantly, you will leave with a tool-box of strategies and resources to support your child's learning needs at home, at school, and in life. So jump on board- are you ready for take-off?!
