    PART 1: THE FILM

    THE ANGEL OF BUDAPEST

The Angel of Budapest relates the extraordinary story of Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat who saved thousands of Hungarian Jews during the Holocaust. The life of this noble and courageous man is presented through the personal experiences of three Canadians who survived Budapest’s Jewish ghetto, and by the research of David Matas, a human rights lawyer. Raoul Wallenberg was instrumental in issuing thousands of Swedish protective passports. His actions influenced the Swiss, Portuguese and Spanish legations to follow his example. Raoul Wallenberg answered unflinchingly to his conscience, acted with determination when others remained silent, and will forever remain an exemplar of moral courage. This film was directed by Marcel Collet.
