Queen's Remembers - Indigenous Plinth Unveiling
2:00 PM â 4:00 PM
Find on Campus Map
Join Principal Daniel Woolf and representatives from the local Indigenous community as we unveil a commemorative plinth to honour the Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee, upon whose traditional lands Queenâs was built.
This plinth will be the first in a series as part of the âQueenâs Remembersâ initiative. Queenâs Remembers is designed to commemorate those who have made significant and noteworthy contributions to the history of Queenâs University. Over the coming months, additional commemorative plinths will be unveiled across campus to remember and recognize these groups.
Each plinth will comprise a concrete pillar which holds either a sturdy weatherproof âbookâ containing pages of text and images or a simple plaque with no pages, depending on the layout and the subject. These plinths are designed to help staff and faculty, students, and other visitors to the campus form a more complete picture of the history of Queenâs.
