Abstract:
Algorithmic Culture: AI is profoundly shaping culture. The production and consumption of artifacts and ideas has been transformed and we can only expect these changes to accelerate. From AI-generated art, GPT-3 and NFTs, the cultural sector is navigating a fast changing world and if history is any teacher, will be a site of ongoing innovation in new approaches and models. Join Jerrold McGrath, program lead for the Goethe Institut's Algorithmic Culture program for a conversation about how and where AI and culture and what to expect next. Jerrold will draw on insights from two years of consultation on AI in the Canadian cultural sector as well as collaborations in Japan, Mexico, China, Germany and the US
